The Best Family-Friendly Hotels in Paris

Choosing a hotel in Paris is a little different when you’re traveling with children.

Location matters, but so does having enough space to sleep comfortably, easy access to transportation, and a hotel that makes the logistics of family travel feel a little simpler.

If you’re planning a family trip to Paris, these are five hotels I would consider.

Novotel Paris Les Halles

If location and flexibility are priorities, Novotel Paris Les Halles is a practical choice for families.

Located in the heart of Paris, the hotel is within walking distance of the Louvre, Notre-Dame, and La Samaritaine, with Châtelet just a short walk away. That makes it particularly convenient when you want to minimize transportation between sightseeing stops.

The room options are another reason I like this hotel for families. There are rooms for up to four guests, as well as an Executive Suite that accommodates up to five and a Family Suite with two queen-size beds.

Why I recommend it: A central location, multiple family room configurations, and an easy setup for families who want to be close to Paris's major sights.

Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel

For families who want the Eiffel Tower to be part of the experience, Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel is an obvious option.

The hotel offers a dedicated Family Junior Suite measuring 45 square meters for up to four guests, with a king bed and sofa bed, plus the option of an Eiffel Tower or garden view. Connecting rooms are also available.

The location is especially appealing if seeing the Eiffel Tower is high on your family's Paris wish list. And for families with younger children, the hotel also offers a family-focused program with benefits that can include children's breakfast and late checkout, depending on the offer.

Why I recommend it: Eiffel Tower views, dedicated family accommodation, and room configurations that give families more flexibility.

Hôtel Astra Opéra

For families who want to stay in the Opéra area, Hôtel Astra Opéra offers some unusually flexible room configurations.

The 4-star hotel is located near the Opéra Garnier and the Grands Magasins, making it convenient for families who want central access to shopping, sightseeing, and transportation.

What really sets it apart for families is the range of accommodation options. Family rooms can accommodate four guests, while larger connecting configurations can accommodate six or even eight people. Some rooms also offer sofa beds and separate bathrooms, which can make a significant difference when traveling with children.

There is also an indoor pool, sauna, hammam, and fitness area, nice extras after a full day exploring Paris.

Why I recommend it: One of the more flexible choices for families who need connecting rooms or accommodations for a larger group.

Eiffel Yard

If your family wants to stay close to the Eiffel Tower without choosing a large chain hotel, Eiffel Yard is worth considering.

Located in the 7th arrondissement, the hotel is just steps from the Eiffel Tower, Champ de Mars, and Les Invalides. It has 28 rooms and suites, including Junior Suites measuring 30 square meters for up to three guests.

The Junior Suites are particularly worth noting for a family of three, while some twin room categories may also work well for older children traveling with parents.

Why I recommend it: A smaller, more intimate hotel with an excellent Eiffel Tower location and a good option for families of three.

Hôtel Gramont

For families who want a boutique hotel in central Paris, Hôtel Gramont offers a lovely alternative to larger properties.

This 4-star boutique hotel sits between the Opéra Garnier, Bourse, and Opéra Comique, putting families in a lively and convenient part of Paris.

The Family Suite is particularly well suited to families of up to four. At approximately 27 square meters, it includes a king-size or twin-bed configuration, a double sofa bed, and a bathroom with both a bathtub and walk-in shower.

For a family of three, the Deluxe Room is another option, accommodating up to three guests.

Why I recommend it: A smaller boutique-hotel atmosphere with thoughtful room configurations for families.

What Makes a Paris Hotel Family-Friendly?

Room Configuration

A room that technically sleeps four isn't always the best choice for a family of four.

I look at whether children will have their own sleeping area, whether there are connecting rooms, and whether the bathroom setup will make mornings easier.

Location

A central hotel can make a family trip significantly easier.

Being able to walk back to the hotel for a rest, grab something you forgot, or avoid another taxi or Metro ride after a long day can make a big difference.

Transportation

Paris is very walkable, but families don't necessarily want to walk everywhere (especially when little ones get tired!).

I look for hotels with convenient access to Metro and RER connections, particularly when a family has younger children or is planning excursions outside central Paris.

Space

Paris hotel rooms can be compact, so I always pay attention to square footage and sleeping arrangements.

For families, a slightly larger room or suite can be worth the additional investment.

Where Should Families Stay in Paris?

There isn't one single best neighborhood for every family.

Les Halles is convenient for families who want central access and excellent transportation.

The Eiffel Tower area works beautifully for families who want iconic Paris scenery and easy access to Champ de Mars.

The Opéra area is a strong choice for families who want shopping, restaurants, attractions, and convenient transportation nearby.

And for families who prefer a quieter boutique-hotel experience, the right property within a central neighborhood can offer a more intimate feel without sacrificing convenience.

My Advice for Booking a Family Hotel in Paris

The most important thing is to choose the hotel based on your family's actual needs, not simply the hotel's star rating.

Think about how many people are traveling, the ages of the children, whether you need separate sleeping spaces, how much walking you're comfortable with, and which parts of Paris you plan to visit most.

A hotel that works beautifully for a family with teenagers may not be the right fit for a family traveling with a toddler.

That's why I prefer to look at the entire trip (not just the room) when helping families choose where to stay.

Make Your Family Trip to Paris Feel Easier

The right hotel can make a noticeable difference in how a family experiences Paris.

With the right location, comfortable room configuration, and thoughtful planning, you can spend less time managing logistics and more time enjoying the city together.

If you're planning a family trip to Paris and aren't sure which hotel or neighborhood makes the most sense, I’m happy to help you narrow down the options based on your family, your itinerary, and the kind of Paris experience you want.
